“Mostly pictures of my kids and stuff that makes me laugh. Sometimes things that inspire me to think about my world”
GALLUP STRENGTHS More Info
I am fascinated by ideas. I find connections between seemingly disparate phenomena.
I create alternative ways to proceed. Faced with any given scenario, I can quickly spot the relevant patterns and issues.
I make things happen by turning thoughts into action. I am often impatient.
I have a great desire to learn and want to continuously improve. In particular, the process of learning, rather than the outcome, excites me.
I have presence. I can take control of a situation and make decisions.
Learning “Challenge Accepted!”
I love to learn and discover new things. If you say, “I wonder if we could…”, prepare for me to jump into action to figure out how and why we can! I thrive on ideas and concepts, needing to “connect the dots” to create complete pictures. Sometimes that means reigning myself in to focus on the core question, other times I’ll amaze you with new pathways and options. Always, I guarantee that we will have usable, accurate, and actionable information to inform our decisions.
Getting to know what makes people tick allows me to make real connections. I’ve had the pleasure of working with people from many different backgrounds and talents. Department of Defense engineers, university faculty, shipping clerks, machinists, IT professionals, industrial and construction sales professionals, multinational CEOs… and each one has expanded my knowledge and experience. Ask any of those folks about me, you will hear the words “trustworthy”, “incredibly competent”, “engaging”, and “unfailingly positive” emerge as central themes.
Flag for Hope / Unity Impressions
VP Innovation & Development “MVP”
November 2015 – present
The Flag for Hope ignited my passion for bringing people together and for sharing a hopeful world view. I volunteered for 12 months, then accepted a full-time position that allows me to make a more significant contribution to our mission. As part of a very small team of passionate people, I have worn many hats including marketing strategist, photographer, digital asset curator, strategic partnership developer, writer, webmaster, social media director, and event planner. I’m proud of the work we have done and will continue to support this organization on a volunteer basis for many years to come.
Marketing Executive, Senior Level
May 2006 – December 2016
During my 10-year tenure, my role at VIBCO grew from a task-oriented Marketing Manager into a senior leadership role. My responsibilities spanned functional areas as “the voice of the customer” in the office and on the manufacturing floor. I served as a trusted advisor to the CEO/President on matters of strategy, personnel, organizational development, information technology, pricing, and strategic partnerships. I was the primary contact for our key distribution channel partners, including Grainger, McMaster-Carr, Motion Industries, and Applied Industrial, and originated a stocking relationship with Amazon (stocked and fulfilled by Amazon) just prior to my resignation. I continued to assist on a part-time basis for 6 months post-resignation and have periodically consulted to aid in knowledge transfer and special projects.
Bryant University Graduate School
Outreach Program Manager
May 2000 – May 2006
I managed all aspects of Bryant University’s contract Distance Learning MBA program with the Naval Undersea Warfare Center; where highly-proficient engineering leaders acquired the leadership and business skills needed to modernize how the Navy designs and procures equipment for strategic readiness. This extremely rewarding role required patience, great attention to detail, conflict resolution, and balancing students’ professional goals and expectations with the University and faculty requirements for a rigorous and academically meaningful MBA curriculum.
“If you want to get something done, you turn to Linda. Linda is a high-powered person who understands, both intellectually and emotionally how to make things happen. I saw this first-hand in the way she orchestrates, manages, and runs the Lean Nation radio show and how she administers complex projects for Karl Wadensten, the CEO of VIBCO Vibrators. Every dealing that I’ve ever had with Linda has been at the highest level. She is competent, intelligent and capable and she is a first-class powerhouse when it comes to getting things done. I’d match her against anyone I know.”
Paul Akers is a Best-Selling Author, Entrepreneur, Business Owner, Renowned Motivational Speaker, and Lean Maniac
“Linda is an individual who manifests a number of very positive qualities, including ability to plan, organize and handle complexity as well as think strategically and with a keen business sense. Further, she is a rare individual who is very predictably, consistent high energy, up-beat and positive; she is a person who has a can-do attitude and demeanor in a world where those kind of people are scarce. She is a genuine pleasure to collaborate and work with.”
